Thy Kingdom Care Centre is an NPO operation, a drop-in Centre that provides social and health care services to orphans and vulnerable across the Sedibeng District. The organsation has programmes such as caring for Orphans and Vulnerable Children and health care services for HIV/ AIDS infected clients, teenage pregnancy education, adherence support clubs as well as HIV/AIDS counselling and prevention of mother-to-child HIV/Aids transmission.

At Thy Kingdom Care Centre we are passionate about transforming minds, providing the youth of tomorrow with self-sustenance programmes and life coping tools. Our objective is to help eradicate hunger amongst South Africans, mainly the orphaned and vulnerable in the absence of parents due to the HIV/Aids pandemic. We motivate a positive mindset that unlocks related behaviours in this important next generation.

“It takes a community to raise a child”. These are the words of Thandi Khanyile, founder of the Thy Kingdom Care Centre. Khanyile transformed a dumping site (notorious for being a hiding spot for criminals where many crimes took place) into a drop-in centre after she observed a need for a centre or orphanage in the community to accommodate children who have lost their parents due to the HIV/Aids virus.

our story“Children come to the centre after school to eat and do their homework, “Khanyile says. “I involve the kids in Drama, Dance and Art so that they can acquire skills”.

Thandi is a Management accountant at Prasa. Not only does she dedicate her time and effort fore others by establishing and running Thy Kingdom, but she also commits HALF her salary to the care centre.
